RAINOUT POLICY

The cancellation of events is unfortunate but is a reality of running on a clay surface in Tasmania.  The safety of our competitors, officials and spectators is of the utmost importance.

The decision to cancel meetings will be at the sole discretion of the promotor, due to; but not restricted to the following reasons:

  • Rain causes the track surface to be undriveable/unsafe.
  • Rain has caused the pits or spectator areas to be considered dangerously slippery.
(This is a requirement of our public liability insurance and must be adhered to).
  • The forecast for bad weather indicates there will be insufficient time to prepare the track, pit’s or spectator areas to a safe level.

The management of Latrobe Speedway will attempt to relay decisions in a timely manner with media releases published on both the Latrobe Speedway website and the appropriate social media pages. The promotor may modify the ticket terms and conditions including this Rain-Out policy at any time without notice.

Non-Event

Non-Event is “A meeting which has not commenced or a meeting which has commenced but less than one third of events have been completed”.

Where weather prevents a meeting from commencing, the meeting will be deemed a Non-Event and cancelled.

Where a meeting has commenced but is forced to be abandoned and less than one third of the programmed events have been completed, the meeting will be deemed a Non-Event and cancelled.

One third of the program includes all programmed events, including inside track competition, engine start-ups etc.   Please refer to the program, which will detail event numbers.

Where a meeting has been deemed a Non-Event the following will apply:

  • Competitors will NOT be paid towage or prize money.
  • Purchased Tickets should be retained and can be re-used for subsequent meetings of the same entry cost during the same season.  If the cost of entry to a subsequent meeting is of a higher value than the initial ticket purchase, the ticket cannot be reused.  Ticket numbers are electronically managed in a Non-Event and will be scanned to confirm validity.
  • Refunds will not be issued.
